LFFF 2015 is just four weeks away and today we have announced our programme for the festival!
Kicking the festival off at 6.30pm on Thursday 20 August will be Through the Lens of Hip Hop: UK Women, about women in hip hop in the UK. We’re very pleased that both directors of the film will be joining us for a Q&A after the screening.
On Friday we’re at the Tricycle for Esther Broner, a film about the little-known world of Jewish feminism.
We have a fundraiser for Rape Crisis at 1.30pm on Saturday 22 August, with US film It Happened Here, about activism around sexual assault at universities.
Our Feminist Classic this year will be Cynthia Scott’s widely acclaimed 1990 film The Company of Strangers, a feature about a group of older women stranded in the Canadian countryside. A charming, unusual, feel-good film, this will be a fantastic way to round off LFFF 2015.
Tickets will be on sale soon. In the mean time, have a look at the programme, put it in your diary and spread the word! 🙂
