The 5th edition of LFFF kicks off tonight at 6pm at the Rio Cinema with the European Premiere of Kaori Sakagami’s Talk Back Out Loud. The film follows a group of women involved with The Medea Project, a US theatre company for HIV-positive and incarcerated women run by inspirational powerhouse Rhodessa Jones.
This is what one of our jurors had to say about the film: “some amazing personal stories and an amazing portrait of women and domestic violence and addiction – and the issues of race in the US – but not only. The film shows the healing power of theatre, and of the extraordinary woman who drives the programme”.
We’re very excited that both Kaori and Rhodessa will both join us for the panel discussion after the film – Kaori in person, and Rhodessa via Skype – along with some other amazing panellists. See our listing for more details.
Our online shop is also now open, with LFFF2017 tshirts and tote bags! These will also be on sale at the LFFF stall at the Rio throughout the festival – plus a small number of LFFF2017 hoodies!
