Powerful 1st night at LFFF2017. Plus Marva Nabili arrives in London!

LFFF2017 got off to a great start last night with Talk Back Out Loud. We discussed stigma, prejudice, and power. As our fantastic chair commented, ‘Racism, classism, fascism, misogyny don’t happen on their own. They don’t happen in a silo’.

Tonight at 6 pm it’s our Indian Women Claiming Spaces session, and all three directors will be attendance (two via Skype). Watch the trailer for the main film here.

Then at 8.30 pm it’s our ‘Feminism and veganism’ talk, asking ‘Is veganism a feminist issue?’. This event has been very popular and has now sold out.

Last but not least, the incredible Marva Nabili, director of our Feminist Classic The Sealed Soil, arrived in London from LA yesterday! LFFF director Anna Read picked her up from the airport and escorted the 16 mm film to the BFI Vaults ready for tomorrow’s screening!
